Project Return Peer Support Network
Taking Charge Together!

Welcome to PRPSN's Website!

Project Return Peer Support Network is a unique mental health nonprofit where staff utilize lived experience to support and serve others with mental health challenges.

Originally founded as Project Return in 1980 as part of Mental Health America Los Angeles, PRPSN holds the distinction of being the first “peer” mental health program in California. Peers bring their own personal knowledge of what it is like to live and recover from mental health conditions and have a unique ability to connect with others who share in this experience.

We advocate to eliminate the stigma by sharing our stories of recovery and provide hope and empowerment to those we serve by holding the belief that all people living with mental health challenges can recover.

Our Mission

Project Return Peer Support Network is a nonprofit based in Huntington Park, California but offers services in every service area of Los Angeles, in person, via phone and online.

Multiple studies have demonstrated the positive impact of peer support including reduction in hospitalizations, increasing engagement in self-care and wellness, decreasing substance use, while increasing social support and overall quality of life.

PRPSN’s diverse programs are on the cutting edge of peer provided services and are designed to support people at various places in their recovery process.
